As the sun sets on this week

Today I overslept...not terribly late, just enough to require my driving my two oldest to school instead of riding the bus. Today, my husband and I went to lunch with our youngest while the older ones were eating lunch at school with their friends. Today, I talked to my beloved at length about the kids, without interruptions while our youngest napped. Today, I sat quietly at my laptop and drank a lingering cup of coffee. In twenty minutes the house will be noisy, the kids will all arrive home from school. The youngest has just walked downstairs to claim the kids computer for some "dot com" time before she has any competition. Today starts the weekend and I am very happy. Not because I am exhausted from school routine, housework, entertaining the only child home during the day or because we are traveling. I am happy that I have a family that loves each other, that I have quiet times and noisy times, that I am able to get one on one time with hubby and family time with all of us, that I live in a school district that has wonderful programs and great teachers, that my kids enjoy time at school and time at home. I am blessed beyond measure and am so thankful that it is hard to not be happy.
