I have now completed nine days of teaching MS. I like it-don't get me wrong. But I feel a little.....not bored...just um...I don't know....not challenged enough. Creating two lesson plans a day is a wonderful thing but teaching each one of them THREE times is NOT HARD-just very different than what I am used to. I knew it would be. And since reading is one of my passions...teaching it comes easy to me. I want kids to READ for the simple fact they enjoy it ...and if they don't enjoy it, I want to instill it in them to enjoy it. However, it is not easy when you have RULES to follow in teaching...when you have to make sure you teach figurative language, personification, literary elements, making inferences and context clues....and on and on and on....you are suppose to actually interuppt their reading a story to discuss these things. I always hated that! And now I am the one doing it. That is what I will enjoy about my day tomorrow...READING COUNTS DAY....they just get to sit and read....and you know what...so do I!!! After all, I need to model for them-right?

Yippee reading. What a tough day that must be! Hmmm, maybe you could read a book about knitting and then have the kids sit and knit for "practical application". From there we could go many directions.
