I have been told over and over again to read Sophie Kinsella's books. I have SO MANY books that I want to read and too many authors to keep up with. I have an obsession with authors...well...their work-I am not going to stalk them or anything-don't think I am going to be Kathy Bates on Misery any time soon (although it wouldn't hurt Debbie MacComber to get out the next address book before SEPTEMBER-would it?)!!
What I mean by obsession is if like their books, I have to ready EVERY SINGLE ONE THEY EVER WROTE...and that puts me in a bind being a wife, mom of 3 teenage girls, cheerleading sponsor, LITERACY council member, and just a woman! ;) I love to be busy but sometimes I just want to stay at home and READ.
Yesterday Jean1 and I met at the library center and I checked out eight books to read in the next three weeks. I can do it. I teach reading. I am a model teacher. No, I do not sit and read in class. Except on Thursdays. That is READING COUNTS DAY and that is what we ALL do when we enter my classroom is read read read!
Back to my point...I broke down and checked out one of her books because I was told how much I would like her (even though I feared getting addicted to another author's work).
I am now halfway through *The Undomestic Goddess" and am thoroughly enjoying it. ;) She writes all the Shopaholic books and I have been intrigued with the books, their titles and their covers. Now I am hooked. So-never a dull moment here.
And the good thing about Mondays is hubby gets off early, picks up girls and cooks dinner. ;) Love him! I did clean up and I have ONE night this week to be at home. All is content in this house tonight, a fire is crackling.
I shall read!

I look forward to reading those books, I am on to book number two that I checked out yesterday! I did pause for all of ten seconds before I moved onto the sequel to the first book though. :) I love errands day, means I will get plenty of reading done while waiting in lines.
Ahhh you will love Sophie. I have read all of her books. She also writes under a different name, but I don't know what it is. I walked past it one day in a bookstore and thought oooh I will remember that. HA HA HA. Also why does it take dear Debbie so long to get out those next address books?
By the way happy reading! Try Carly Phillips next.
Stop giving me new authors-I can't keep up! lol
And find out what the other name that Sophie Kinsella goes by?? :)
Madeleine Wickham is Sophie's other name...Sophie is actually the pen name for Madeline Wickham who wrote A Desirable Residence
Just thought you'd both want to know. :)
I am sooooo with you about being addicted to reading. In OK they have what is called the Sequoyah award books (the are like Mark Twain awards), my 7th graders read in the Young Adult catagory. I told my kids 2 weeks ago I'd read them all and tell them. I got started and got hooked. I have read 5 books in less than 2 weeks. I am staying up late and becoming obsessed.....I got out of the habit of reading for pleasure in college and I had forgotten how addicting it can be....
Yeah! Thank you jean 1. I will be writing that down. Jean 2 just a little side note, I know you would understand what my life is like. You finished school with children and so if anyone could understand it would be you. Yes I am applying here, and several other places. I may go up to Raytown where Markley will be the new super. Luckily there are a ton of districts all w/ in 25 miles of here. And bonus...the starting salaries are really good! I think I need your email so I don't leave comments that are ten paragraphs long!
I would be applying in Raytown, just wanted to clear that up! That is kind of far though. Like an hour drive. UGH!
