The tie that binds....

So alike-yet so different.....
Jean2 speaking....
This is me and my daughter J. My pride and joy. I like this picture because we are both smiling and it shows our similarities. I don't like this picture because you can't see all of J's peaches and cream-innocent teenager face. She is beautiful. This is my first attempt at a picture and I just hope blogger lets me post it. If I figure it out-be prepared for more pics! :)
J is very much like me in many ways. Even her dad (who is my ex husband) claims she is like me. For instance, she has the LOOK (the look is the one that says *don't even think about it*-my ex husband has determined he will never get away from it-my legacy lives on. J also values her family and friends. She knows the value of REAL friendships and is learning how to handle many different situations. She is social around kids her age-shy around adults. She is a sensitive soul-and contrary to popular belief she gets some of that from me. I just try to teach her that is sometimes a hard way to live. I want her to be sensitive-yet tough. Of course, as her mom, I don't ever want her to hurt.
She is unlike me in that she is a straight A student ( I got decent grades but not straight A's-but then again-it wasn't required of me). She does cheerleading and track and is currently starting cross country. I had a good laugh last night as I dropped her off at cross country practice and listened to her coach brag about her stride, effortless running and motivation. I then proclaimed she gets it from me. Her coach went to school with me and unfortunately knows better-but at least she saw the humor in my statement. I am proud of J for many reasons. She makes my heart swell when I look at her and a tear come to my eye every time her dad picks her up.

Ahhh she is getting to be such a little grown up. You should be so proud of yourself for raising such a smart, sweet, beautiful daughter!

What a great picture of you two!!! I still think of her as that little girl mesmerized while watching CMT. She's almost grown now...
