Gentlemen, start your engines....

OK, so we're not actually about to drive 500 laps around an oval track, but we are finally joining the rest of the area for summer break. It's amazing how long these last few weeks have felt while my kids were finishing out school as other school kids were cruising the malls. Don't get me wrong, I love my kids schools, they are very blessed to be in such a great school district and to have so many wonderful friends that they would not ever have met if it weren't for school. But. When June rolls around and my kids are still tromping through the halls of education while neighboring cities are floating in their pools, I have found myself just a bit less grateful. It is time for an attitude change on my part, I know, so consider me reprimanded. :)

On another note, I've been reading a series of books that I love. I am a voracious reader, as anyone who knows me could attest, and love to read many types of books (minus the horror/mystery sets and the trashy romance novels). I will often read the book of choice within a couple of days and move on to the next book. I most often look for books that are series since I feel a bit cheated when a book only has 200 or so pages. Friday Jean 2 and I met at the local library five minutes from my house. We chatted and let the kids, all seven of them (hers and mine) look to their hearts content. After a time I looked through the reading section and found a set of four books called "Yada Yada Prayer Group". Even though I wasn't as intrigued by the title as the fact that the set of four were present together, I decided to give them a try. Jean 2 and I usually get together on Sunday afternoons to hang out, play tennis or see a movie, but this week, after a long and arduous weekend, needed to get some tasks accomplished, so I was left with a napping hubby for the day and decided to read. Book 1, was an easy read with a good and even plot. It drew me in to where I finished it by staying up too late Sunday night. Book 2 was begun immediately after the kids left for school, I found myself carrying the book from room to room to read when I had a moment...I finished it and started Book 3 by dinnertime. I finished Book 3 and began Book 4 by bedtime yesterday and just finished Book 4 today. I decided to look up the author online to see if she had any other books and found out that there happen to be a Book 5 and 6, which were placed on hold immediately. I have to say that I am rather happy that I "happened" to choose these books just as summer is beginning.

I cannot wait to read those books now. I have so many that I want to read this summer. That is just some more to add to the list. I am glad you are enjoying them. I truly miss you and hope to see you soon.

I'll be reading the series, too, now! I know that if you loved them THAT much...I will, as well.
Thanks for letting us know about them! I miss you both...and am seriously considering coming home for that week in July (like you mentioned, Jean 1). :-)
