Oh how I wish. When is that going to REALLY come back? Should I take initiative and just bring it back myself. I see the clothes everywhere. My daughters are wearing things as teenagers that I wore as a teenager. The beads, headbands, belts, and earrings. And shoes to match all accessories. I see it everywhere. But what I miss the most-THE HAIR! Not the guy hair-the mullet. EEEEEKKKK
I heard the latest Billy Ray Cyrus song, "I WANT MY MULLET BACK", cracked me up. The song is not JUST about mullets. About 80's in general. Well-I want my SPIRAL back! I love the big hair days.
So-I go to Dr. Flys today with Jean1 to get our hair done. I am all set on getting a spiral-regardless of what Jean1 or any of my other friends think-STACEY! After all, I am my own person....so I sit down and tell the lady what I would like done to my hair as she is just mortified. She then proceeds to tell me how a perm is the worst thing I could do to my hair since it has been colored and highlighted over the years. WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO DO? Grow all new virgin hair before I can get a perm? Come on! So-she suggest a few other things and I go with DARKER highlights that will give me body. And it did. And I $100 later-I love my hair. I better-right?
So-I ask you-when can I get my SPIRAL and not MORTIFY everyone?
I am now wondering if she was just too lazy to spiral perm my hair? Mabye Jean1 is just afraid I would look hotter than her? Is it all a conspiracy?
Because-I looked damn good with a spiral people!!

I also love the big 80's. I agree that I will leave my mullet behind. I laughed the other day when my daughter demanded to wear her stone washed jeans with the hole in the knee.
Donna, I soooooo agree with you about big 80's hair! I loved my perms, too, and never considered them to be "too much". I feel out of touch with everyone who jokes about the hairstyles of the glorious 80's! The bangs, the curls, the aqua-net hairspray and mousse...those were the days!!!

Hey, I say, get the spiral. I think you would look great with a blad head. After all, I've always said you and Sinad O'connor were very much alike....you know, a bit off your rocker. Hee hee

Donna, DONNA. Your highlights look AWESOME. I am glad someone had the sense to refuse that spiral. I loved the 80's too, dear, but they are OV-AH. Like, I mean, gag me.
I love a good spiral perm too, but with today's styles and the amount of hair I have, I would look like my hair was three feet wide and tall!
I have perfect 80's hair, those were the days!
