(insert music)Take me to old St. Louie take me to the zoo...take me to a nearby mall, maybe even two.....(music fades, as I run out of rhymes)
Jean 1 here. Kids and I headed to the Gateway to the west for a little R&R and a visit with the G'parents and cousins and Aunt. So far we have been to the zoo, had a fun time swimming in the pool and eaten a nice breakfast each morning in our hotel. My son, Ryan, has finally overcome his intense fear of glass elevators (He developed quite a fear of glass fronted elevators a year ago when he was on an excursion with his G'pa, and when I say fear, I mean clawing his way away from any glass fronted elevator with terror and fear in his eyes that would break the heart of scrooge himself.) He has now ridden the feared elevator three times and has declared it "no big deal". (whootie whoot)
Christie finally got to see both her papa and the zebras in the same day. So life is generally great for her.
Bria and Nikki are looking most forward to today, in the scheme of activities, since we are headed to the mall right next door to our hotel.
Update: It is now 11:30. The girls had a great time at the mall. And when I say great time, I mean SEVEN HOURS! Yep. Poor Ryan hung in there pretty well. The girls got some great items, a few purses were bought, several necklaces, hair accessories and clothing. We then headed over to the cousins for a little visit and playtime before coming back to the hotel to swim and eat dinner. We had a tiring great day. The only thing that would finish this trip perfect would be for SIL to get the "bun in the oven" to come out for her great debut for Aunt Jean to hold before leaving town.
We head home tomorrow for a day with daddy. Hope everyone has had a great week.
