WEDNESDAY! This is my first full week of teaching and Wednesday symbolizes one thing-I am 3/5 through this week. And I am exhausted. The weekend is near.Today while teaching the same History lesson for the third time in a row...I had a moment of insanity. I had not planned properly for today. Sure I had things for them to do. But it took them 20 minutes to do it (and each class is 50 minutes long)-they were to then start reading ch. 2! I didn't want to read it to them or have them read it to me! BORING! But how else can you GUARANTEE they WILL read it?? They MUST get this material inserted into their brains or I HAVE FAILED AS A TEACHER. Sure they can sit there with their book open and be quiet-but you cannot FORCE them to read. So-we read it as a class. And that took another 20 minutes. Normally, I like to discuss things with them while reading the chapter as any good teacher would do-but today I just didn't want to. I am tired. So-I just TALK to them. I like 5th graders and I like to just talk to them. But this is not what I am suppose to do during History so NEXT week I will plan better. ANYWAY...so I stay for a faculty meeting. SNORE. SNORE. And then I get things ready for the next day. I write down on the board what we will be doing the next day for each subject. I load my teacher's manuals,lessonplans and gradebook in my lovely teacher tote ( I couldn't wait to start carrying one of those when I was in college-HA!) that has become my best friend-tell my three daughters we are leaving...come home...start a load of laundry...get the girls started on their computer time...assign things for them to do (chores) while they are not on the computer ...start dinner...all of this in a fog... eat dinner-DH cleans up mess-love that man-and now I am blogging before I resort to grading not only 63 History Vocab. Review sheets but also their reading and spelling papers too!! YEAH! Let's here it for teachers!! Enough teacher talk! Jean1 -I could go for a LAZY day of UNO !! Still tennis on Sunday??Crazy Mama-Baileys in some coffee?? Sounds great!Jeanwannabe-if you read this -I promise to be more rested for the softball game tomorrow night at nine-right?

Well, I'll think of you while we are at the SDC today...and have a strawberries and cream in your honor. (snicker, snicker) That will help you make it through the rest of the school week.
Consider it done! Wont tell you when, it will be a surprise, something to look forward too. Next time I am down that way, here comes the goodies...Oh yeah, I had a strawberries and cream for you yesterday at SDC also. Your welcome for that...(haha)
alright, the best i can do as a heads up is, sometime next week. Now it wont be Monday, Tuesday, or Friday...does that help? (hahaha), Man, i don't know where i could of got this onrey side! Do you? LOL
