A few months ago I blogged about being a "Cheer mom, tired mom, proud mom"...little did I realize what the future would hold for me and J in cheerleading. I would like to first say I am proud of her for making the HS cheerleading squad. We had 32 girls show up for our cheer clinics. Some weeded themselves out. We then got down to the truly talented girls who wanted to be a cheerleader as much as they wanted to inhale and exhale. The tryouts were grueling to say the least. You might wonder to yourself why a MOM knows so much about the process??? Guess why? I am officially the HS CHEERLEADING COACH! This said with a mixture of fear and excitement. One might be thinking, "No wonder J made cheerleading." That being said, just to clarify and not justify, I did not judge. I had five unbiased judges and I ran the CD player. The tryout process was five hours long. After they gave me their recommendations-and I glowed with pride for my daugther WHO MADE IT ON HER OWN (she really did have a great tryout)-I had them announced today.
I am finding myself consumed with being a good coach and learning. Does anyone know where I can get, "Cheerleading for Dummies."

I'm telling you, you need to meet my aunt. She is now the head coach at her school and loves it! Also, she gets to go to all of her boys football games for free. Have fun. I am sure you will do an awesome job. Congrats to J! How awesome.
