CHEER MOM...TIRED MOM...PROUD MOM

You guess it. Another brag blog from Jean 2. My daughter J performed in her first cheerleading exhibition on Saturday at a local HS holding 3,000 people. I learned a lot that day. I helped with hair, make up, checked for nail polish and body jewelery which were not allowed-the rules were great but stressful. If their hair touched their shoulders-points would be deducted-guess whose daughter has the longest hair? You got it. MINE! We hair sprayed her hair so much she had to shampoo it twice. Long story short....her squad did fabulous and since she is captain-she was in the center and middle and lead them out. I was frantic for her-my heart was pounding with fear and pride that only a mother knows. For all I know-my heart might have stopped some as well. LOL
They received honorable mention during the competition and beat out some big local schools. I was shocked, pleased and proud. They worked so hard last week practicing-so many hours a day they had to take their lunch and as a mom I was beginning to think it was JUST TOO MUCH. But it paid off for them on Saturday when they received their well deserved award.
Our HS received first place in their division. I am proud of my daughter, her squad, our school and their coach. They all deserve some praise!! GO BIG BLACK! :)
If only I had a picture...soon ....soon! :)

Aw, I'm so proud of her too! And you! You're an awesome cheer mom, even for an *athlete*.

Wish I could have caught some of the competition...bet that was really fun to watch!

Yes, pictures. And it's a good thing you are such a low key person...no hootin' and hollerin' from you! ;) Glad she's found something she really loves...and that you can live vicariously through her.

I can live vicariously if I want to. LOL Actually-not doing that so much anymore-just cheering her on! I could have never done what she did Saturday at that age. :)
