When I was a kid (waaaaayyy back in the 80's), only the very privileged had swimming pools, the rest of us cooled off via the hose. We would take turns either squirting the other people with the hose making it spray out by placing your thumb just so or you would hook up the hose to a sprinkler if you were fortunate enough to have one that your dad would let you use. This is what my dad would call the hillbilly swimming pool.
This week, we introduced our youngest two children to this wonderful past time. They thought we were the smartest, most creative and best parents EVER! I kid you not. They would run through the sprinkler, run over to us and say "Thank you for letting us get all wet in the yard." And run off to run under the spray of liquid heaven. Small things, huge impact.

It is just amazing what entertains young kids. I LOVED the hose but it was all I had. I just wish our oldest TEENAGERS would be more easily entertained! HA!
How sweet! I remember the excitement of running through the sprinkler...many moons ago.:-) This picture is priceless! Her excitement radiates from it.
