Jean2 here to talk about another issue in life...MUST BE NICE!We have all heard these words before. Some in a good way and some in a bad way. Sometimes when people say this to you, they genuinely mean-IT MUST BE NICE to have whatever nice thing you have or to have something good in your life happen to you. Sometimes when people say it they are doing it out of spiteful jealousy with a lovely saracastic tone. I am not above being jealous. I have to work on that. I want my friends to have nice things and I am happy for them however I just want what they have too. Is that being jealous or envious?hmmmmm....I can never remember the difference. But I am often guilty of both in all honesty. My true friends accept this fact about me. What else can they do? I always say I can admit my flaws however never manage to WORK ON THEM. Anyway...I grew up with someone in my life that was never happy for anyone. Always saying to people who had nicer things that it MUST BE NICE (in the not so nice way) and making the people feel bad for having what they had. It embarrassed me because at a young age I knew this person was NOT BEING NICE or happy for the other person. This person often did it to me when I grew up and gradually got nicer things in my life. It didn't hurt my feelings or even make me mad because I was used to these haughty comments from her. I just wonder why people don't see that in themselves. Do they mean to sound that miserable about their life? Do they need a pity party? As Jean1 says "If you are having a pity party, I am not coming." Yes-I have heard that a time or two from her myself. I just say "who invited you." But that is the relationship we have. We dish it out and we take it back and God smiles at this friendship. Back to the topic. Most people who know me know I destest the comment...MUST BE NICE so guess what I hear all of the time? HA! They have sick senses of humor. My husband always tell me "IT MUST BE NICE to go have a pedicure" my answer...IT IS! I have a friend who always says IF I go to the mall..."IT MUST BE NICE to go to the mall all of the time." IT IS!
